Product Description
The Storacell Battery Caddy solves the problem of how to conveniently store your batteries in a compact and easy to find holder. Originally designed for pilots, the Battery Caddy is also great for photography, camping, travel or home use. The Battery Caddy is durable and break resistant and the slim and lightweight design makes it portable. There are no sharp edges to catch on clothing or bags. Storacell's patented locking system snaps batteries into place; batteries snap into place and remove easily. When ready to use, simply push the battery out with your thumb. Keep fresh batteries separate from used batteries by turning them in opposite directions. The Storacell Battery Caddy provides the best terminal protection at both ends. Batteries left rolling around in a drawer, bag or container have the potential to cause a fire. 9V batteries can be a hazard if the double terminal comes in contact with metal objects; an electrical spark can be created causing a fire. The Battery Caddy is great for a variety of uses including outdoor activities, photography bags, emergency kits, by emergency responders and for home organization. Batteries not included.

With 3 kids we go through AA and AAA batteries quickly - even faster when you throw in my battery-hungry camera flash ( Canon 580EX II . For years I've bought batteries in bulk at our local warehouse store, which is wasteful and expensive over time.
Now that rechargeable batteries no longer suck (the new low discharge Ni-MH batteries like the eneloop brand are great) I decided to make the switch from disposable batteries.
Battery storage was a concern - at least the bulk pack of disposables was its own battery holder. I didn't want a jumble of rechargeable batteries sitting around...it would be unsightly and I know my kids would throw discharged batteries in with the charged batteries.
I looked at every battery holder Amazon sells and settled on these. I needed storage only for AA and AAA batteries so wall-mount storage that holds a fixed number of every type of battery was not suitable. I don't think we even have anything that uses 'C' cells in the house. I didn't need a battery tester - I use the La Crosse Technology BC-700 battery charger which has a much more accurate meter than some cheap analog gauge. I also prefer to buy products made in the USA.
Batteries slide easily into these holders (I have both eneloop and Duracell rechargeable batteries) and lock securely in place. Since these caddies were originally designed for pilots it only takes one hand to pop the batteries out. The caddies stack well so they sit nicely on a shelf. I also purchased the Storacell 12 Pack AA Battery Caddy , which can stand up vertically.
I have no hesitation in recommending these caddies. They're surprisingly affordable and they couldn't be better designed. They're tough, too - we've already dropped full caddies with no damage to the caddies. The caddies are not indestructible, however. In my zeal for consumer testing I dropped a 12 battery caddy, fully loaded (the caddy, not me), from a height of about 8 feet onto a tile floor. It landed squarely on the end the batteries are loaded into and 3 of the battery holder tabs broke off.
As long as you're not a knucklehead like me, though, these are more than sturdy enough for everyday use and normal hazards. Now I'm off to buy another AA holder...and post this review over there too.
The holder weighs almost nothing in my hand. Because they space the batteries from each other a little bit, it does use up a little extra space; however I feel that it's a fair compromise for safety and to prevent dead or leaking batteries in your pack. I have the confidence that I'll have functioning batteries when I need them. Now, they're only in a sandwich bag to keep them dry, not to keep them together.
I never knew these existed until I stumbled upon them while shopping for batteries. For such great prices and peace of mind, I'm very happy with this purchase.
I can recommend these battery holders for anyone who needs to travel with batteries. 5 Stars!
That's where this comes in, the six cell AAA battery holder by Storacell. The one I received does not look like the one pictured. Mine has a really strong "arm" at the top unlike the product photo, which has these narrow tabs or "fingers" instead.
So I measured a AAA battery against a .38 Special +P round and they were almost identical in diameter. I got my battery holder just a few minutes ago and shaved off the bumps inside the top part--the bump meant to hold batteries secure--and it's perfect. Now I can just slide a .38 +P round in easily. Just an extra little push and it stays secure because of the design, but it also doesn't slide all the way down because the main body of the holder is too narrow. Extracting rounds is surprisingly easy because I can just push the round up from the bottom and it literally pops out. And if you know what a .38 +P round is then you know that the battery holder also accommodates .357 magnum. Now I can carry six more rounds in my buttstock pouch, organized and easily accessed.
It's strange. It's almost as if this thing was made for bullets. It's even safety orange in color. Think outside the box, folks. If this were made by a gun manufacturer it would cost 2-3 times more.

Along came this caddy and it is such a simple yet brilliant idea. holding 6 batteries at a time means i only need one or two of these to have a supply for microphones which last me for agesI have a simple way of organising them, when they are discharged i turn them upside down so i can instantly see which are charged and which need charging which saves an enormous amount of time before a shoot trying to work out which need charging (previously i gave up and just recharged all of them which takes a considerable amount of wasted time)
In short I love these things, I have about 3 of these and would easily recommend them to everyone
