Ars spent most of Friday in Galveston at Space City Con , where the guest list skewed heavily toward Babylon 5 with a splash of Game of Thrones . I was looking forward very much to meeting Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo), who plays a mean game of slaps , but unfortunately he hadn't yet arrived when I had to pack it in and head home.
Still, we took some great pictures of most of the rest of the guest list, including almost all of the main surviving cast members of Babylon 5 (it feels weird to say that, but both Andreas Katsulas and Richard Biggs have passed away).
Ladies and gentlemen, Bruce Boxleitner! Though I grew up watching and re-watching my VHS copy of Tron until the tape broke, Boxleitner's face and gravely voice will forever be associated in my heart with the role of Captain John Sheridan of Babylon 5 . Boxleitner talked and joked at length with the folks lining up at his booth—and also with Gil Gerard, who was seated next to him. And no, he has no idea if Tron 3 is happening.

Mira Furlan was quiet and extremely polite; she didn't even mind when I broke out of journalist mode for a moment to tell her how much I enjoyed her work. If you didn't see her in her role as Delenn on Babylon 5 , you likely caught her in Lost .

Peter Jurasik's Babylon 5 character Londo Mollari started off as a bombastic buffoon, but that was a masterful subversion of expectations. Londo went on to become the show's most tragic character—and it was made worse by how clear it was that Londo knew he was headed down a dark and terrible path.
His character's unlikely eventual friendship with the sadly deceased Andreas Katsulas' character G'Kar was one of the show's standout features.
Lee Hutchinson
Stephen Furst played Vir, Londo's long-suffering, perpetually panicked assistant, whom Londo once referred to as a "moon-faced assassin of joy." Like many B5 characters, Furst's Vir transcended his initially narrow character definition and wound up in a place, and a role, that few viewers would have suspected.

Jurasik and Furst were seated next to each other. I almost asked Jurasik to yell out "VIR!" but refrained.

Claudia Christian played Susan Ivonova, Babylon 5's XO. The character was extremely popular and her booth was quite busy. Nevertheless, she had time for a smile for Ars.
Lee Hutchinson
Jason Carter played Marcus Cole, a Ranger with (unrequited) romantic feelings for Christian's Ivonova. Carter's character was big with the ladies—I remember back when the show was running, a whole group of female fans calling themselves the "Marcus Cole Estrogen Brigade" would swamp him at conventions.
Carter was ridiculously nice , and didn't mind talking with me for a few minutes about the show. I would hang out with this guy, seriously.
Lee Hutchinson
Bill Mumy played Delenn's ataché, Lennier. He also does music—in fact, as part of Barnes & Barnes he's responsible for the
Dr. Demento favorite
Fish Heads . He also played young Will Robinson (of "DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!" fame) on TV's
Lost in Space .
Lee Hutchinson
Marshall Teague played a number of different roles in Babylon 5 —most notably that of the Narn Ta'Lon, assistant to G'Kar.
Lee Hutchinson
Gil Gerard—Buck Rogers himself!— was seated in a booth next to Bruce Boxleitner and I couldn't resist taking a photo.
I did not, however, say "beedeebeedeebeedee" at him.

What do we say to Death? "Not today." But what do we say to Miltos Yerolemou, the actor who played Syrio Forel in Game of Thrones ? We say "Miltos, you're awesome."
Seriously, this guy is great. Engaging, personable, crazy-polite—and hilarious. According to the convention staff, he hung out playing Cards Against Humanity with VIP guests and staff the evening before, and even read answers in Syrio's Braavosi accent.
Lee Hutchinson
Esme Bianco, who plays Ros, was also there, signing autographs and joking with fans.
Lee Hutchinson
Kristian Nairn's unmistakably large form was easy to spot, even sitting at a table. Fortunately, in real life he actually says a lot more than just "Hodor."
Lee Hutchinson
Finn Jones, who plays Sir Loris Tyrel.

What type of sci-fi con would be complete without at least one life-size Dalek?
Lee Hutchinosn
These guys were too awesome not to take a picture of.

Another sci-fi con staple: folks wearing Stormtrooper costumes. I had to retake this pic a few times because he kept blinking.

Gethin Anthony (Renly Baratheon), Esme Bianco, and Milton Yerolemou running a panel discussing Game of Thrones in one of the large rooms.

Another angle on the Game of Thrones panel. Bianco's face isn't actually that pale—she's just sitting in the path of a projector.
Lee Hutchinson
Bianco and Yerolemou answer audience questions after the panel.
Lee Hutchinson
Tracy Scoggins (Captain Elizabeth Lochley), Joshua Cox (Lieutenant David Corwin), Claudia Christian, and Bruce Boxleitner running their own Babylon 5 panel.

Christian recounts her experience filming the
"GREEN" "PURPLE" scene in the episode
The Geometry of Shadows .
