According to the survey, 57% of all Americans who plan to get Disney+ also plan to cancel some other service. The service that is most likely to get canceled is a live TV service like cable TV, AT&T TV NOW, PlayStation Vue, or Sling TV.

33% of those planning to cancel a service after getting Disney+ say they will drop an on-demand service like Netflix or Amazon to sign up for Disney+; 37% said they would cancel a live TV service like cable or YouTube TV; and 19% said they would cancel a premium subscription such as HBO or Showtime.

This study pushes back against the idea that cord cutting is just getting too expensive. Americans are willing to trade services to get what they want. It also points to how a growing number of Americans are happy to bounce between services to watch the shows they want when they are live.

Disney+ is hoping to push back against being dropped by releasing shows weekly instead of all at once. This way subscribers can’t subscribe for a single month and binge watch a show as soon as it comes out.

Do you plan to cancel something when you sign up for Disney+? Leave us a comment and let us know what you plan to cancel so you can add Disney+.
