For the first time in five years, three continuous, undivided lanes of westbound Interstate 80 traffic are flowing freely Monday morning.
FAST FACTS
--Milestone achieved in Across the Top project--Local/express lanes are gone--Three lanes are open, undivided
Over the weekend, all westbound traffic was reduced to one lane to allow work crews to finish the final painting and striping on the westbound side of the Across the Top construction project.
Crews still need to finish bus/carpool lanes in both directions.
However, crews remain on track -- weather permitting -- to complete the 5-year, $133 million project, according to a Caltrans spokesperson.
